An analysis by iMerit suggests that 36 of the 137 U.S. independent executive agencies have dedicated Chief Data Officers among their ranks. These include the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Agriculture, U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Army, Department of Education, U.S. Postal Service.
