Our client, a global financial data and media company needed to gather information on earnings calls, transcribe call recordings and extract data on international funds. These diverse streams of data are critical to their in-house knowledge, must be accurate and updated in real-time on their online platform.

Solution
iMerit teams of financial data experts used multi-step processes to gather information from recordings, calendars, and documents. They extracted critical information and built datasets according to the client’s requirements. The client, a leading global travel website, needs to field incoming requests from both owners and users in real time. These requests contain corrections, issue reports, and requests to change information about travel destinations, restaurants, and more.

Solution
The iMerit team approves or rejects each update. The person who submitted the update request is personally notified of the decision. To do this, our experts identify who sent the correction, review relevant existing information, verify the existing data point, review the update, and then strengthen the data point with additional research.

Results
The project team reviews up to 700 requests every day and responds within 24 hours of submission. This enables the client to provide enhanced customer service and authentic information for their own customers in time.

The client is a unique company transforming the insurance industry by combining mobility with manpower. They have a rapidly growing database of user-submitted reports and pictures that need to be assessed rapidly for appropriate content and compared against claim reports to verify the authenticity of the claims.

Solution
Visual data experts from iMerit receive thousands of user-submitted images every month. They assess these for appropriate content and verify the images against those submitted in claim reports. This task requires a commitment to speed, precise attention to detail and very high quality. Images processed in this way are also sent through a quality check cycle before final delivery to the client.

Results

Teespring

Challenge
Teespring is a custom apparel company that receives thousands of unique, user-submitted merchandise designs every day. For optimal customer experience, they needed to maximize search relevance on their site, which meant getting their user-submitted designs categorized and labeled based on their contents, and style. This required input from a flexible team that could respond to spikes in submissions, while providing reliable, high-quality results and ongoing improvements.

Solution
iMerit’s Solutions team worked with Teespring to develop an end-to-end tool for item moderation and categorization process which handled more than 5000 unique items each day. Our team of commerce taxonomy experts reviewed and optimized the taxonomy system before it was put to use. Designs could be placed in multiple categories and levels, to ensure search relevance across a variety of customer queries. Our team categorized more than 5000 queries each day, enabling Teespring to keep up with influxes of new designs.

Results
Teespring was able to enhance their customer experience tremendously based on the categorization done by the iMerit team. Their search relevance improved, leading to higher conversion rates, a record number of orders and an increasing customer base.

Trust and Safety
Ride Sharing

Challenge
What happens when you have millions of users whose safety and satisfaction are critical? What if you have millions of secure service tickets that you need to process in real-time? This global ride-sharing client company faced these challenges and needed a curated, secure workforce as a 24/7 solution to triage these tickets while maintaining both speed and quality.

Solution
iMerit data experts reviewed each secure service ticket as they came in, marked the urgency level, and assigned topical content tags. They used their expert judgment to review rider feedback and rate the level of safety concern on a pre-determined scale. For this project our team used a platform that fed seamlessly into the client’s internal systems, ensuring that data was completely secure and transmitted in time.

Results
iMerit teams have triaged over 1.1 million secure service tickets. These teams have also processed huge, unforeseen spikes in incoming tickets, ramping up to several hundred workers over the course of one weekend alone. This flexibility gave our client stability and a continued spotless record of customer support.

Twitter Sentiment Analysis
Sharing Economy

Challenge
The client needed to get an idea of customer sentiment around their new product. They aimed to do this by analyzing and categorizing thousands of tweets about this product. They did not possess the in-house capacity to do such critical analysis and needed a curated team providing expert human judgment.

Solution
iMerit assembled a curated a team of data experts that provided value-added judgment to analyze thousands of tweets. They analyzed each tweet separately, classifying the sentiment associated with it as positive, negative or neutral. A record number of tweets were analyzed in two months.

Results
The client got high-quality results from this sentiment analysis of product tweets. The feedback provided by our team was consistent in quality and integrity. Our work helped the client evaluate customer sentiment and use this feedback to introduce design improvements in their product.

Genealogy Extraction from Old Church Records
New England Historical Genealogical Society

Challenge
The New England Historic Genealogical Society is the leading comprehensive resource for family history research and the largest Society of its kind in the world. Their repository of handwritten historical records needed to be digitized for which they introduced the multi-collaboration Historic Catholic Records Online project.

Solution
iMerit’s Solutions team provided an end-to-end implementation for transcribing these records including the tools, workforce and quality check. Our team put their data through our in-house image viewer with custom text fields for the transcription and a name-guessing interface that correlated with the Catholic name database. iMerit was the main collaboration partner for NEHGS for the transcription of candidate records of birth, marriage and baptism in four languages – English, Latin, Italian, and French.

Results
iMerit transcribed more than 200000 candidate records of birth, marriage, and baptism. This helped NEHGS create a searchable directory using which people can access their ancestral records and get more information about their genealogy. Batches of our work are contributing to the collection of millions of digitized sacramental records in an online, searchable database.
