iMerit Founder and CEO, Radha Basu recently had the opportunity to sit down with the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation for an interview to discuss what it means to take risks to create a larger social impact.
The interview with MSDF’s Santhosh Ramdoss highlights the inspiring story of Zarin Fatma, a Senior Technical Associate at iMerit’s Metiabruz delivery center. Metiabruz is a conservative community where women are not encouraged to leave for school or work. iMerit offers a unique opportunity for women in this underserved community to gain market-aligned skills and steady employment to support themselves and their families.
Radha discusses the path that led her to found iMerit. When the technology boom was happening in India creating a burgeoning middle class, Radha noticed that this growth was leaving women and youth in rural areas behind. This is when Radha decided to take the risk to create opportunity and bring these people into the digital economy.
